Why Inconel Outperforms Stainless in These Services
- Chloride SCC Immunity: Inconel 625 and Incoloy 825 are free from chloride stress corrosion cracking that fails 316L at >60°C.
- High-Temperature Strength: Inconel 718 retains 1,034 MPa yield at room temperature and over 800 MPa above 500°C.
- Oxidation Resistance: Inconel 601’s aluminium-enhanced Cr₂O₃/Al₂O₃ scale survives 1,250°C continuous service.
- Pitting & Crevice Resistance: Mo+Nb matrix of Inconel 625 resists pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater, FGD slurry and acid chloride environments where 317L or duplex stainless would corrode.
- Precipitation Hardening: Inconel 718’s niobium-stabilised γ’’ phase provides double the strength of 625 without brittle transformation.

FAQs Inconel Needle Valves
Kalpataru Inconel 625 needle valves are available up to 20,000 PSI in standard forged bodies and up to 60,000 PSI in ultra-high-pressure mono-block configurations (sizes 1/4″ – 9/16″). Temperature range: −196°C to +980°C.
Inconel 600 excels in high-temperature oxidising environments (up to 1,100°C) and nuclear applications; it lacks molybdenum so has lower resistance to chloride pitting. Inconel 625 adds 8–10% Mo and 3.15–4.15% Nb, making it superior for seawater, sour gas, cryogenic and chloride-bearing services. Inconel 625 offers higher tensile strength (930 MPa vs 655 MPa).
Yes. Kalpataru supplies NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliant Inconel needle valves with hardness controlled to HRC ≤22. Full NACE compliance dossiers, HIC test reports and sour-service material certs are available on request.
We supply NPT, BSPP, BSPT, SAE, JIC, UNF, metric thread, socket weld, butt weld, tube end (compression / ferrule), flanged (ASME B16.5 Class 150–2500) and panel mount configurations. Custom connections available on request.
Yes. Inconel 601 needle valves are stocked for high-temperature oxidation service up to 1,250°C. Inconel 718 needle valves are available for ultra-high-strength aerospace and hydraulic test rig applications (tensile strength 1,241 MPa).
There is no fixed MOQ. Single valves can be ordered for maintenance and repair. OEM / project orders of 50+ pieces attract volume pricing. Contact Kalpataru for a quote.
