Monel 400 (UNS N04400) is the standard nickel-copper alloy offering excellent corrosion resistance in seawater and marine environments. Monel K500 (UNS N05500) is a precipitation-hardened version with significantly higher strength and hardness – approximately double the yield strength of Monel 400. K500 is specified when both corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength are required, such as in pump shafts and high-pressure seawater systems. For most marine piping applications, Monel 400 provides adequate strength with excellent corrosion resistance at lower cost.

Monel flange pricing varies based on size, pressure class, and flange type, but generally ranges from $50-$200 for smaller sizes (1/2″ to 2″) up to $2000-$5000 for larger sizes (12″ to 24″). Monel K500 typically costs 15-20% more than Monel 400. Prices fluctuate with nickel and copper commodity markets. Yes, all flanges include EN 10204 3.1 Material Test Certificates as standard. Third-party inspection (TPI) by agencies like Lloyd’s, DNV, Bureau Veritas, or TUV can be arranged at additional cost. We also provide PMI test reports and hydrostatic test certificates upon request.

Yes, we manufacture all flange face types: raised face (RF), flat face (FF), ring type joint (RTJ), male and female (M&F), tongue and groove (T&G), and lap joint face. RTJ flanges are commonly specified for high-pressure oil & gas applications and are available with R, RX, and BX groove profiles per API 6A standards. Custom facing dimensions can be machined to customer drawings.

Yes, Monel 400 and K500 are specifically selected for seawater applications due to exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and pitting.
