Grades: Stainless (304/316/321) · Duplex & Super Duplex · Inconel · Monel · Hastelloy · Carbon & Alloy Steel · Forms: Round · Bright · Forged · Hollow · Cut to length
Kalpataru Piping Solution supplies round bars for machining across the grade range: stainless steel, duplex and super duplex, the nickel alloys Inconel, Monel and Hastelloy, and carbon and alloy steel, as round, bright, forged and hollow bar. These are the bar stock that valve, pump, flange and fastener components are turned from, and holding them grade-wise means a machined part can be made in the exact alloy the service needs. If you already know the grade and the form, ask and we will confirm stock and sizes.
Round bar is the starting stock for much of what we also supply finished: the same grades appear as pipe fittings and valves, so a project can source machined bar and finished components from one supplier in matching material. Bars are cut to length with a mill test certificate on the grade.
Round Bars by Grade
Grade first, because the alloy decides whether the machined part survives its service.

Bar Forms
Beyond solid round bar we hold bright bar with a drawn or ground finish for tighter tolerance, forged bar for the larger diameters and higher-integrity parts, and hollow bar for bushes and sleeves that would otherwise be bored from solid. Bar stock and shim stock share buyers, so the shims range sits alongside the bars for a workshop ordering both. Tell us the grade, diameter and form and we cut to length.
Cut to Length & Machining
Round bars are cut to your length from stock, and where a part needs machining rather than plain bar we can quote the finished component from a drawing. Diameters run from small precision bar up to large forged sizes, single lengths through to production quantities, with common stainless sizes held for fast dispatch. Give us the grade, the diameter, the length and the quantity and the quote comes straight back.
Quality, Certification & Testing
Every round bar order ships with an EN 10204 mill test certificate, heat-number traceable to the grade, with positive material identification available so a duplex or nickel-alloy bar is confirmed as the ordered grade and not a look-alike. Mechanical, hardness and, where required, ferrite testing on duplex are provided to the specification, and third-party witness through BV, SGS or TUV is arranged at order stage. Common stainless bar ships quickly; nickel alloys, duplex and forged sizes are confirmed on enquiry. Send the grade, diameter, length and quantity and the quote comes back with the certification built in.
Round Bars: Frequently Asked Questions
Round bars for machining in stainless steel (304, 316, 321, 904L), duplex and super duplex (2205, 2507), nickel alloys (Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy) and carbon and alloy steel, as round, bright, forged and hollow bar. If a grade or size is not listed, ask, because we hold more than the site shows and can source to specification.
Finish and tolerance. Plain round bar is hot-rolled or forged with a standard surface, suited to general machining. Bright bar is drawn or ground to a brighter finish and a tighter dimensional tolerance, used where the bar is machined little or needs closer size control. Both come in the same grades; the choice is the finish and tolerance the part needs.
Match it to the service of the finished part. Stainless 304 and 316 cover general and corrosion machining, duplex and super duplex add strength and chloride resistance, nickel alloys handle high temperature and aggressive corrosion, and carbon and alloy steel suit general and high-temperature components. The bar grade should match the alloy the part is specified in.
Yes. Hollow bar is round bar with a bore already through it, used for bushes, sleeves, rings and any part that would otherwise be bored from solid, which saves machining time and material. We supply it in stainless and other grades alongside solid round, bright and forged bar.
Yes. Every order ships with an EN 10204 mill test certificate, heat-number traceable to the grade, with positive material identification, mechanical and hardness testing, ferrite testing on duplex where required, and third-party witness inspection available at order stage.
