We supply forged globe valves in the standard straight pattern and angle-type globe valves where the line turns 90 degrees, in stainless, carbon, alloy and nickel grades. A globe valve is a control valve: its seat design gives good, stable regulation across the stroke, at the cost of more pressure drop than a gate valve. For pure on/off isolation a gate valves is the better and lower-drop choice. The pattern and grade follow the service and the layout of the line.

Globe Valve Grades & Ratings
Globe valves are supplied in stainless 304 and 316, carbon steel, alloy and nickel grades, in classes 150 through 2500, with the trim and seat matched to the throttling service. The grade follows the line, and end connections are flanged, butt-weld or threaded. For fine instrument throttling, a needle valve is the small-bore equivalent.
Globe vs Gate: When to Use Which
The two do opposite jobs. A globe valve regulates: it controls flow well across its stroke but adds pressure drop, and it can be held part-open. A gate valves isolates: it gives a full-bore low-drop path when open but is not meant to throttle. Use a globe valve to control or throttle flow and a gate valve to isolate a line, and a check valve where non-return is needed.
Quality, Testing & Certification
Every globe valve is pressure tested, seat and shell, before dispatch, with an EN 10204 mill test certificate for the body material, heat-number traceable. Positive material identification confirms the grade, NACE MR0175 for sour service and third-party witness through BV, SGS or TUV are arranged at order stage. Common sizes ship quickly; higher classes and alloys are confirmed on enquiry. Send the size, class, grade and pattern and the quote comes back with the certification built in.
