FAQ’s About Beryllium Copper Strips
C17200 (Alloy 25) contains 1.80–2.00% Be with no lead addition, offering the highest strength and conductivity in the beryllium copper family. C17300 adds 0.20–0.60% Pb for improved machinability, at a slight reduction in mechanical properties. Strips and coils are predominantly supplied in C17200.
For spring contacts and leaf springs, TD04 (full hard) is most commonly specified — it provides tensile strength of 1050 MPa minimum and HRC 35 minimum. For applications requiring subsequent forming, TD02 (half hard) allows moderate bending while retaining good strength.
